Vaada Vivada – Policy Debate and Deliberation Contest

'Vaada Vivada' is a Policy Debate and Deliberation Contest aimed at honing and testing creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Participants will be presented with a hypothetical problem, to which a policy must be drafted from a given standpoint. Teams will face off against each other to defend their standpoint and solution.

This event will be conducted in 6 rounds. The first two rounds are preliminary and are scheduled on 18th December 2025 (Day 1). Teams will be marked cumulatively, and the top 8 teams will progress to Day 2. 19th December, 2025 (Day 2) will consist of Knockout Rounds, i.e. Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals.

Each round will have 3 stages:

• Stage 1 – Foundational Stage: The first 2 participants from each team (here in after referred to as Foundational Speakers) will present their arguments.
• Stage 2 – Policy Stage: The third participant (here in after referred to as the “Policy Speaker”) will present their argument in this stage.
• Stage 3 – Questionnaire Stage: This stage will involve questions based on arguments from the previous stages.

Registration Fee: Rs. 500/- per team

The Winning Teams shall receive the following Cash Prizes:

• First Place: Rs. 7,500/-
• Second Place: Rs. 5,000/-
• Third Place: Rs. 2,500/-
